  2. GTYmassive says:

is 19 to old to start college to become a doctor?

  3. cjn9999 says:

@ecnuob14 Yes and No at the same time, it is harder to get into general surgery but not entirely too hard. Dermatology = extremely hard. Make sure you try hard for US MD/DO or attend SGU or maybe AUC in the Caribbean. Saba has 75% required in courses and Ross IMO has high attrition, SGU surpasses them all but all can yield a doctor. Work hard and u can get there for sure.

If I do decide to go and become an international medical graduate will that affect me being able to specialize in surgery or another practice?

  5. puffyclouddd1 says:

Wow thank you so much this is so helpful!

  6. gioojj says:

@ladysovisdabest I am 17 and I want to be a doctor too, I think everything can be done, if you wish…

  7. gioojj says:

but I do not think that other countries offer same level of of education… I am from republic of Georgia and I know that, top med schools are in US. I wish I could go in US medical school but I can not. I think each US citizen should stay in their country because they do not have a better option…

    @ALEXCHASE750
It all comes down to your USMLE scores. The higher the better.

  9. TheFranzruss says:

i like hom..hope i get to see him someday lol//btw im in 3rd yr med now

  10. neuromercury says:

i’d rather do some summer courses in my undergraduate.

  11. ALEXCHASE750 says:

Isnt it true that people who get the M.D in the caribean have less chance of getting the residency they want?

  12. ladysovisdabest says:

im only 13 and some how i wanna be a doctor when i grow up ……easier said then done right?

  13. fghjhgf99 says:

Not to mention, you’ll probably have difficulties adjusting to the country you’re going to reside in. Especially financially wise, unless someone is going to support you.
    Rubbish that is.

  14. DEACONAP4LOVE says:

For the clep you must know the material very well. This is indeed a “shorcut” but not easy by any means. Saying it is one thing, doing it is another.

  15. menillo says:

I think what he is saying is that in Mexico and other countries, you don’t do premed, you go straight into med school once you pass your entrance exam. Now this is straight out of high school. So that is basically 3-4 years of premed you don’t have to do. So I can see how it is possible to get your MD faster. Another plus that i see from this is that the practice you get is very hands on. Thanks for the info Gabriel, it was very helpful.

  16. Ledarifique says:

Save 3, 4, 5 years. That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard you are implying that in some places you can get it in 3 pfff the minimum is 5.

  17. AManfromGoljota says:

Hi Gabriel, Thanks for the great info. It is great to know you did your B.S. at Loma Linda. I just finished my BS in Radiation Science here at Loma Linda and hunting for jobs, which is currently so horrible. I wish I knew your info before I spent too much money for undergrad. If I don’t find a job, I am planning to head onto the med school. I don’t know the extent of the sucrifice, but that seems to be the only alternative right now. Thanks again.

  18. ucsbrat says:

very informative man, wish i had someone to help me when i went through it. keep this up, many will benefit from it.

  19. colberrrt says:

@TheJameelahmad I don’t think you get a Ph.D., and then you’re called a doctor. Most physicians are M.D.’s as far as I know.

  20. JonTStudios says:

@TheJameelahmad ok thank you very much :D

  21. joeylodes says:
